As these last few weeks close in on us I know that I’ve been spending a lot of time looking back at these last 8 years and wondering to myself what I’ll do after we leave this beloved fictional street for the last time, each of us packing our own little Housewives bag filled with joy, new friends and a little bit of mystery. Through thick and thin Wisteria Lane has been our home Sunday night’s and each of us has taken with us new life lessons and outlooks because of our favorite characters and storylines.

We’ve made friends and lost friends, we’ve loved and have been loved in return, we’ve each been a Mary Alice or a Susan and at the end of the day we all find we’ve have One Wonderful Day. So I ask, to you the fans who have been here with me for so long: What are you all taking with you when you leave Wisteria Lane for the last time? What lessons have you learned, what character you’ve loved and what is the biggest thing you will miss about Desperate Housewives when it’s gone?

This is one of the last magazine issues with a large spread for the show and thinking about that spurred this post. It’s emotional. Reading this magazine you feel very sad and it really hits you that it’s the end. So enjoy it because it’s one of the last one’s we’re getting.

The street was lined with vendors from various companies and events and each had something unique to bring to the event, there were artists and photobooths, wines and ice cream. Something for everyone. And what was equally wonderful was that all of the tips for the night went back to the charity, so we eagerly gave at each booth we stopped at.

There was also a massive auction going on and I got into a bit of a bidding war with another guest over a Desperate Housewives bag. Sadly he finally went well over my limit but I know that the items are going to great homes. Again, all of the money from every auction piece went to the foundation.

Onto part 2 of my meet and greets:

The kids! All of them were so adorable. I just wanted to take Mason home with me, he’s such a little gentleman and will have all of the ladies someday. Madison is so mature and a delight to chat with, eager to see all of her fans. She’s like her sister Demi in that sense. Daniella was cute and very soft spoken but she’s also incredibly wise beyond her years! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these three!

Christine Estabrook, Amelia and I! We had a good ten minute conversation with Christine, who we may have been able to convince to join Twitter! She was asking us questions about it, how to go about, should she tweet as Martha Huber or as herself, then said she’d be so boring if she posted as herself – which is very untrue! She’d be a great tweeter. Christine is so sweet. We also got to chat Mad Men and then she said to watch out for her real soon and winked, which confirmed that she is indeed in the Series Finale of DH. Something that William Keck confirmed late last night.

Vanessa! She was so charming and sultry. She wasn’t able to stay long because she had another event at 7:30 so I was fortunate to grab two shots with her before she left! She’s got an upcoming series that she’s just shot the pilot for on ABC called 666 Park Avenue, fingers crossed that it gets picked up!

Darcy Rose Brynes! What a wonderful bright young actress! We spotted Darcy at a few of the booths, one of them was a shirt cutting area where a designer created custom designs into shirts by cutting strips out of them! It was really neat. She was an absolute delight and I certainly hope to get to meet her again someday!

Last year the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation approached me about promoting a new event they had started called the Wisteria Lane Block Party. A charity event held on Colonial Street at the Universal Backlot where all proceeds went to funding Cystic Fibrosis research for a cure. They loved my passion for it and so this year they invited me to go along. I eagerly jumped at a chance to visit a street set that had been a part of my life since I was 12, and my final destination took me to a place to make some amazing memories that will stay with me forever.

I invited my friend and cohort Amelia from Dana-Delany.org and we took off on a whirlwind adventure to Universal Studios. It was such a crazy night and the adrenaline was intense but it was an mind blowing night and something I will never forget. I was able to meet much of the cast, and many of them already knew my name. To put it simply, it was life changing.

I got a few red carpet photos, which you can view below but the most exiting parts (at least for me) are under the cut. I’m writing these out in parts so you’ll have to keep coming back for more!

The first person I met coming off of the carpet was Andrea Bowen, who I also run a site for. She recognized my name instantly and was so sweet and thanked me for all of the hard work I do and she even complimented my hair, which I had bleached and colored specifically for the event. She said, “I had red hair once,” and then we both laughed and she added “But I guess you know that.” Andrea was singing later on, which I unfortunately missed because I was back up at the carpet but I know someone got it on video so I’ll be able to see what I missed. I was able to quickly say goodbye to her before I left and thanked her for everything.

Barb Alyn Woods (One Tree Hill, DH) and her girls Emily and Natalie. Emily plays Young Emily on Revenge and Natalie is on Wizards of Waverly Place, which my sister watches. They were all so sweet and Natalie was really shy. So adorable. Barb and I were able to quickly chat OTH and Revenge and she asked about the Revenge site I help out on, so exciting!

Andrea Parker and I! She’s so sweet and a delight to speak with. We got to quickly chat about social networking and she said she had no idea how to tweet and probably wouldn’t because it wasn’t her thing. So any fakers out there need to clear out! Because I got it straight from the lady herself.

Rachel G. Fox, who I’ve done so much tweeting with these last few years has grown into such a wonderful young woman. While Rachel and Kayla won’t be back for the finale (sadly) we were all excited to see her there supporting her Housewives family and I was so excited to finally get to meet her!

2nd Annual Wisteria Lane Block Party

The 2nd Annual Wisteria Lane Block Party was under way Saturday night at Universal Studios and the cast was in full form! Taking the time to walk the carpet AND meet their fans, everyone in attendance was busy. The street was open to fans to visit their favorite Housewives homes and take pictures inside and out. There was a wonderful silent and live auction with some wonderful Housewives goodies and food galore!

All of the proceeds went to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and we very fortunate to attend this year’s party and make a little Wisteria Lane memories of our own. While Tori is still writing up her recap, here are some photos of the cast from the red carpet. Marcia, Eva, Brenda and Dana were unable to attend but the fort was well held down in their absence.

TVLine Exclusive: Dana Delany Set for #DesperateHousewives Finale

It’s (finally) official: Dana Delany is headed back to Desperate Housewives before the sun sets on Wisteria Lane.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Delany — who recently wrapped production on the second season of Body of Proof (the finale airs Tuesday) — will reprise her role as Katherine Mayfair in the show’s May 13 series finale.

And it appears she’ll be making the trip alone.

According to an insider, Katherine’s significant other, ex-stripper Robin (played by Dexter alumna Julie Benz), is not scheduled to appear in the episode.

Delany made her then-final appearance at the end of Season 6 when Kath embarked on a really long European vacation with Robin. It’s unclear what brings her back to town — perhaps the news that ex-fiancé Mike passed away finally reached across the pond?
