ABC Store Giveaway!

Desperatefans.org has partnered up with the official Desperate Housewives ABC store via CafePress.com to give one lucky fan some nifty DH/ABC swag! It’s sweet and simple and all you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite upcoming storyline for this season and the correct number of Sneak Peeks released for the Season Premiere to win!

Every participant will be set through a randomizer and one lucky fan will be selected from the juicy batch. You MUST leave a legitimate contact email, otherwise I can’t pass on your winning to CafePress. Open to ALL countries, you have until SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH to enter.

Putting On The Ritz

Check it out gang, I promised we’d have a new layout! Featuring the “glory” days of the show with it’s original members we opted for a glamorous Putting on The Ritz theme. It’s a tribute to the first two years of the show and the years that have gone by as a site. We’ve faced some hard times but are still the best DH source hands down according to some very yummy insiders (@TheTvJunkie among them, what a great guy!) in the television industry and as The “In” Crowd, they know what they’re takin’ about! Many flattered thanks!

I absolutely adore this layout, a great 18th birthday present for me and I hope you guys enjoy it too.

We are still working on the sidebar and that will be finished ASAP.

Created by Enyel, who did our Warrior Wives layout as well as a gallery layout for Dana-Delany.org, is a good friend of mine whom I also highly recommended for any site graphic needs!

New Galley Layout

It was time for a new layout, we’ve been hosting flashy layouts for a long time and I wanted to go back to something simple and easy on the eyes. Especially my eyes because I spend so much time here. Haha…So TADA.

THE FAIRVIEW HERALD

Made by Natalie, one of our admins and owner of Blood Falls: The Vampire Diaries it incorporates the additional season six promotional photo with simple and calming blue coloring. All categories have also been re-ordered for easier navigation. Wisteria Lane is strictly for everything regarding the show, episodic promotional, screencaptures, etc and The Eagle State is just for the cast and their various projects. Public events are in there, as well as other cast projects, screencaptures and stills of those, etc.

Our new front page layout should be done soon, at which time we’ll be adding more fan goodies to it, including (maybe) a trivia script. I know many of you wrack up the leaderboards on facebook or wherever and this should be fun for you guys too.

The Fairview Herald – BRB

Alrighty guys, as previously posted we were hacked last week and that caused everything to go out of whack. We are in the process of fixing it, and it may take some time before the gallery is back up. Hopefully by the end of the week it’ll be back to almost full capacity. We are currently starting the deletion of it and will be re-installing it as soon as that is finished.

Thanks for being so patient without the gallery during this tough time, it’s hard for us to have to do this but if I can keep the future and legacy of DFO safe then it’s worth it. We’ll be back with some brand new themes for the gallery as well. So stay tuned, we’ll let you know as soon as The Fairview Herald is back online.

Gallery Offline

We need to take the gallery offline. With this hack we need to re-evaluate all of the site security and that means all user accounts in the gallery have to be deleted and will not be re-added. It will have to become completely user free. Due to the large nature of our site hack we cannot have anything that may be considered a security risk. We may also have to put the forum offline until this network can be evaluated. In the meantime I will still continue to work on the new forum and getting that set up as quickly and secure as possible. I am still working to find a way to transfer the feeds from this forum to the new one.

We will also be removing the chat box in the sidebar, I only hope that once these problems are fixed the users who frequently visit with us there will come and join us in the forum. The new forum will be invite only sadly to avoid future security risks from another site. The good news is that pre existing users will be the first ones to re-join, and they will have a certain amount of people they can bring into the new forum.

I hope that during this time you can all be patient and understanding, we will try and get this back up as quickly as possible. We apologize for an stress this may cause, as it is not something we ever wanted to do but it has come to the point where we have to step up the measures to keep this site safe. It’s a popular haven for thousands of fans as well as members of the cast and we strive everyday to keep it as safe as possible for them and us.

CafePress T-Shirt Contest

We’ve partnered up with CafePress to offer the fans a chance to win some nifty DH and CafePress swag. All you have to do is create a shirt with a witty slogans/saying or create a design for one of the housewives (I’m a Bree) or Wisteria Lane. Each shit must follow the CafePress rules in regards to fan merch for DH and we ask that users keep the number of shirts entered to a maximum of 3. The best way you can enter them after creating is by adding them to the CafePress DH Fan Portal and then PMing me the link to your shirt.

After the entry deadline shirts will be put up anonymously (to avoid a popularity contest) in a voting thread, much like a graphic contest, and the winner will be announced three days later.

Rules: HERE. It MUST be of your own design, entering someone else’s design equals an automatic disqualification. Refrain from cast bashing and no rude or derogatory slogans, no profanity and no crude images.

Prizes: a $100 CafePress Gift Certificate and a Desperate Housewives fan pack (t-shirt, water bottle, bag, etc).

Not only is this a great way to enter the contest, but by entering your shirt into the fan portal, it can be purchased and the creator will get a percentage of sales. Not a
bad deal! Plus, great way to say – look what I designed on a t-shirt, on sale here.
